Following their exit from the 2019 Total African Cup of Nations tournament, Sebastien Desabre’s future with the Cranes is still undecided.
During a post-match conference after their 1-0 loss to Senegal, the Uganda Cranes coach declined to give an answer to a question regarding his long term contract with the East African based side.
“I think now is the time to speak about the game and not my future.”
“This is a presser connected to Senegal and Uganda and we should keep our questions to the objective of the press conference.”
Desabre’s silence about this particular question has created deep uncertainties about his future with the Cranes. Since the start of this year’s AFCON campaign, a lot of news has been circulating on different social media platforms about Al Ahly’s interest in the French man’s services.
Meanwhile, although Uganda bowed out of the tournament, Desabre has insisted that he is proud of his players since they hustled hard against a very strong and organized Senegal side.
He also praised his team’s path in this year’s tournament claiming that it was good following the fact that they versed strong teams with experience in scoring goals.
If Desabre remains with the Cranes, his next step will embark on enabling the team to qualify for the CHAN tournament.
