Following misunderstandings between Judith Babirye and her husband, Paul Musoke Ssebulime whom she married last year, reports have indicated that the less than a year marriage has collapsed.
When the two got married, Babirye who is also a member of Parliament representing Buikwe, stated that she was determined to ensure that her marriage with Sebulime works out.
Babirye and Ssebulime’s marriage ceremony was characterised with tight security and a high degree of secrecy.
The venue was also communicated to guests at the last hour amidst worries that his (Ssebulime’s) former wife, Lukiya Ntale had vowed to disorganise their day.
Nantale who had been married to Ssebulilme for over 10 years had issued several warnings to Judith Babirye against getting married to her husband.
However, the two continued with their marriage celebration with Ssebulime insisting that he was free to marry another woman as him and Ntale were not married legally.
With a couple of stories circulating on social media about the disagreements, here are four reasons attributed to their marriage collapse.
In the very beginning of their relationship, Babirye and Ssebulime had agreed that he (Ssebulime) would cut ties with her former wife Ntale completely and be hers alone, which he failed to do.
Reports indicated that Ssebulime started seeing her former wife, the mother of his children once again and he could absent himself from marital duties at times. Something Babirye wasn’t comfortable with.
After seeking permission from the Speaker of parliament, Hon Rebecca Kadaga in April this year to go and attain better medical care, more reports have indicated that Babirye fled out of the country due to concerns about her marriage being in balance.
Babirye was living in fear thinking she could be a victim of ritual sacrifice from her husband, and this also forced her to leave their marital home in Naalya before she left to the USA.
Other sources indicated that Babirye also suffered a strange sickness said to be poisoning a reason she decided to migrate and stay single for some time, abandoning her marriage and parliament duties.
Furthermore, it is believed that Judith Babirye informed her close friends in Boston, the USA where she is currently residing that her relationship with Ssebulime was no more, adding that the latter is a cursed individual when it comes to marriage issues.
With so many stories about their marriage rising on different social media platforms, it remains to be seen whether Judith Babirye will officially separate with her husband, Ssebulime.
